Who it's for / Accounting and tax practices

The crypto data desk behind your practice.

From 2026, crypto platforms report their users' transactions to HMRC under the Cryptoasset Reporting Framework, and to EU tax authorities under DAC8. More clients will need their crypto history put in order, and most of it is not on an exchange statement. Lucidblock works behind your practice: we read the wallets, classify the activity and hand you a record you can rely on.

When it helps

Where this fits in your work.

Self Assessment and personal tax

A complete, classified record for the tax year, in pounds or euros, that imports into your crypto tax software. Unknown transactions are investigated and either resolved or listed for the client to confirm.

Catching up earlier years

Rebuild a client's history across several years ahead of a disclosure or in response to a nudge letter.

Company accounts

Period-end balances and valuations for clients holding crypto on the balance sheet, with proof of control and the price source behind each figure.

Client due diligence

A source-of-funds report where your anti-money-laundering checks need to understand crypto-derived wealth.

Working with your practice

An extension of your practice, not a competitor for your client.

Most practices already have the tax software. Koinly, Recap and similar tools handle exchange statements well. What they cannot do is read what happened once a client's assets left the exchange - and that is where the unknown transactions, the wrong disposals and the hours go. We do that part, and hand the result back into your software.

We are not accountants

We prepare the record. The computation, the treatment and the advice stay with you. We never contact your client directly unless you ask us to.

Delivered into your workflow

The classified ledger arrives as an import file for Koinly, Recap or CryptoTaxCalculator, plus a PDF you can put on the client file. Your branding on the pack if you prefer.

Fixed fee per client

Quoted up front from the number of wallets and transactions. Pass it through or mark it up - your choice.

Only when you need us

No subscription and no minimum. Send the messy cases: DeFi, several wallets, several years to catch up, or a client who has had a letter from HMRC.

Source of funds when your AML checks need it

The same wallets, written up as evidence of where crypto-derived wealth came from, for your client due diligence.

Turnaround that fits January

Five working days as standard, quicker by arrangement in the run-up to the Self Assessment deadline.

Plain language

The few terms you will meet.

Reports are written for readers who do not work with blockchains every day. These are the only terms you need.

Wallet
An account on a blockchain that the client controls directly, outside any exchange. Most clients have several.
On-chain
Recorded on a public blockchain. Anyone can check it, and it cannot be edited.
Own-wallet transfer
The client moving assets between their own wallets. Not a disposal, but tax software often treats it as one.
DeFi
Lending, trading and earning yield through blockchain applications rather than a company. The source of most 'unknown' transactions.
Staking reward
Assets received for helping to run a network. Usually relevant as an income-type receipt.
Independence

We work for your practice, as a specialist behind your team. We do not give tax advice and we do not approach your clients.
