On-chain evidence for your engagement team.
More engagements now touch digital assets: a client holding crypto on its balance sheet, an estate or a company with wallets nobody has the keys to, a dispute about where funds went. Lucidblock works as a specialist to your team. We read the public ledger and write up the evidence in plain language that fits your working papers. You keep the client relationship and the opinion.
Where this fits in your work.
Audit support
Evidence what a client's wallets held at a period-end date and that the client controls them, from the public ledger. Scoped to the engagement on request.
Insolvency
Inventory the wallets, strike balances at the date of appointment, and follow anything that left beforehand to where it can be claimed.
Forensics and disputes
Establish what was held, where and when, and follow the movement of funds between wallets and exchanges with a schedule you can exhibit.
Client acceptance
Support enhanced due diligence on clients or principals whose wealth is crypto-derived.
The reports most relevant to you.
Holdings statement
What a person or company held, where, at a date - with evidence of control and a valuation.
Funds tracing report
Where crypto went after it left a wallet, and where it can be reached: exchanges, services, other wallets.
Source-of-funds report
The on-chain trail from first purchase to today, for a solicitor, bank or accountant.
The few terms you will meet.
Reports are written for readers who do not work with blockchains every day. These are the only terms you need.
- Wallet / address
- An account on a blockchain. One person or company can control many.
- Public ledger
- The blockchain itself. Every balance and transfer is recorded permanently and can be checked by anyone, at any past date.
- Proof of control
- A wallet owner signing a message or making a nominated small transfer, showing they hold the keys.
- Deposit address
- An address an exchange assigns to one customer. Funds that reach it are inside the exchange, where a disclosure request can follow.
- Bridge
- A service that moves value from one blockchain to another. Funds leave one ledger and appear on another, and the two legs have to be matched.
We work for your team as a specialist, not for the entity being examined. We hold no position in the assets involved, take no referral fees and sell nothing to the subject afterwards.
